About LIBBY

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Brown/Chocolate with White
  • Housetrained: No
GREAT things come in small packages. Libby believes this and so do we. Libby is a tiny 8 year old chocolate cocker spaniel. She weights just under 14 pounds. With love and proper nutrition Libby should be at her ideal weight quickly. However, she is on the small side and should be healthy at around 20 pounds. Libby is house trained. She will need reinforcement when she moves into her forever home. Libby has spent her life in a puppy mill. She has never known love nor had her person. Her life was spent having litter after litter of puppies. She is suffering further from her life outside. Libby is heartworm positive. Not only are we looking for a forever home for Libby, but we are looking for a possible foster to adopt. We encourage anyone who is experienced with heartworm treatment or has the time to commit to this difficult treatment please contact us. After Libby has successfully finished her heartworm treatment, her adoption fee will be $150. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter and heartworm treatment. Libby is very friendly and loves to snuggle. This is unusual for a dog coming from a puppy mill environment. She enjoys being loved on and petted. Her favorite spot is curled up in your lap or covering your face with sloppy kisses. She also enjoys her outside time. She loves chasing balls and running around investigating the yard. Libby will do well with lots of walks and a yard to play in. It is unknown if Libby likes cats or gets along with them. She has not been introduced to them since she has come into rescue. She has been around other dogs and really prefers not to be around other dogs. She has become aggressive with the other dogs and attempts to be dominant. Libby would do well in a home with no other dogs. She has spent her life with no attention and now prefers not to share it. If you feel that GREAT things come in small packages and feel that Libby would be a wonderful fit for your family, please contact the rescue to fill out an application. Tired Dog Rescue asks that you please think carefully before adopting a Cocker Spaniel. Cocker Spaniels are a very high maintenance breed. They must be brushed 1-2 times weekly to keep their fur from matting. Grooming cost averages about 60.00 every 6-8 weeks. Cockers must have weekly ear cleanings to avoid infection and costly trips to the vet. If you are not prepared for the time and cost of owning a Cocker Spaniel please consider a lower maintenance breed. Please note that Tired Dog Rescue will not adopt Cocker Spaniels to homes that have small children living in the home or that visit the home often. If you are interested in any of our dogs please fill out an application at www.tireddogrescue.com All adoptions require a home visit and vet check. Adoption fees range from 150.00-250.00. This fee covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and any other medical treatment needed. If you have questions you may call Terry at 228-254-6305 or go to our website. Thanks for looking!!

More about LIBBY

Is Not Good with Dogs

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
