Hi my name is Ellie Mae!  I'm about 2 years old and looking for a forever home.  I'm a quirky, playful girl and love to try to message people on the computer. Background on Ellie Mae. She was an owner turn-in to the shelter because the family could no longer care for her. She was almost bald and very undernourished when she came into rescue. Since she has been here she has grown a beautiful coat. Jet black and so shiny. She is still on the lean side but starting to gain a little.

Tired Dog Rescue asks that you please think carefully before adopting a Cocker Spaniel. Cocker Spaniels are a very high maintenance breed. They must be brushed 1-2 times weekly to keep their fur from matting. Grooming cost averages about 60.00 every 6-8 weeks. Cockers must have weekly ear cleanings to avoid infection and costly trips to the vet. If you are not prepared for the time and cost of owning a Cocker Spaniel please consider a lower maintenance breed. Please note that Tired Dog Rescue will not adopt Cocker Spaniels to homes that have small children living in the home or that visit the home often.
