Meet Rudder – A Loyal and Loving Mini Aussie Looking for His Forever Family!

Rudder is a gorgeous 6-year-old male Miniature Aussie mix with a striking red merle coat and a heart full of love. Weighing about 35 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion – smart, affectionate, and eager to please.

Rudder’s Best Qualities:

  • Crate trained and fully housebroken
  • Great with kids of all ages, dogs (large and small), and cats
(While he hasn’t lived with children, he’s been around them his whole life from infants to teens)
  • Knows basic commands and has wonderful manners
  • Not destructive and has no history of aggression or biting
  • Up to date on vaccines (as of April 2025) and on monthly Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention

Rudder lives in a multi-pet household, happily coexisting with a 13-year-old Aussie/Golden Retriever mix, a Rottweiler, a Shih Tzu puppy, and a 5-year-old Ragdoll cat. He eats Purina One dry food, Milk Bones, and Blue Buffalo jerky treats.

This sweet boy is looking for a loving home with room to run, play, and be adored. A crate can be donated to help make his transition smooth and comfortable.

Location: Gulfport, MS

Willing to transport up to 200 miles to the right home.

If you’re searching for a gentle, well-behaved, and loyal companion, Rudder may be the perfect fit. He’s ready to bring joy and companionship to his next family.

More about Rudder

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Requires a yard

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
