Other helpful information: this dog was abandoned so there is no info on her. She seems very timid and is very well behaved. Only needs to potty a couple of times a day.
With a muzzle that looks like it was dipped in sugar, this almost 10 year old Cardigan Corgi is as sweet as can be. But, it may take a bit of patience by whomever adopts her to get a glimpse of this side of her. Abandoned with 4 other dogs, (possibly a litter of her own puppies who were quickly all adopted) , she was so terrified at the shelter that no one could get close enough to touch her. In an overcrowded shelter scenario, this behavior cannot be abided. Once pulled and in a foster home, it took three weeks for her to gain trust of humans again and she is now low key and happy just to be part of something bigger than herself. Newcomers may be met with a growl but she takes correction well and retreats back to her position of rest. Being stroked by a loving hand also helps to calm her fear. Corrine is a perfect lady with stellar potty habits requiring no more than two potty breaks a day. Although she is heartworm positive, adhering to orders to maintain rest requires no extra effort. Besides napping on the couch, lying in the grass in the sun is equally acceptable to her. Corrine will engage in some mouthing play with her foster mom’s dog on occasion but never gets too crazy while satisfying her fellow canines desire to tussle. She is quite an accommodating gal. She would do best with someone willing to give her time to adjust and is looking for a couch potato companion. She is happy to walk animatedly on a leash as well and is getting used to car rides. She deserves to be spoiled in her twilight years. Are you her person?
We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
