Hampton The Gentleman Hound:
Hi I’m Hampton, I’m a refined, well mannered hound of 7yrs, with many more years of love to give. I am part English Pointer and will let you know when something is amiss. I don’t bark inside unless you’re watching tv and I hear a gun shot or a dog bark then I’ll bork at the tv for a few seconds to ensure it’s not going to hurt you. I am afraid of the thunder storms and will become a lap dog if you’ll let me, because I believe Alpha Dog (that’s you) can do anything including make the thunder stop. You will need to brush me once a week because I have that water resistant coat. I will give you a sweet dog smile when I greet you in the morning and when you come home from a place I wasn’t invited, I hope that’s a rarity and I get to go a lot of places with you. If you’re sitting down I will try to hug you, if you let me, but you can tell me Off and I won’t be offended. I’ve never met a stranger, I’m polite to everyone. I am looking for a person or family that will take me for walks, to the farmers markets, and really anywhere dogs are allowed. I can guarantee that I’ll improve any environment with my class and sophistication. I know commands: sit, wait, with me, ok (to release me from a sit or wait), off (people and furniture), leave it, and kennel (bed time); my foster parents are happy to help you learn my commands. I do like kids but prefer them 10 and up. I am a social butterfly and do love the outside but please don’t leave me for hours by myself because I will get bored and start to dig. I come prepared for a life with my best friend; my foster parents have given me a bed, brush, harness, leash, food and water bowls plus my own toys. I even come with a bag of food that I love. Please be my best friend and I’ll be your best boy. He is up to date on vaccinations; heartworm negative; microchipped; requires fenced-in yard. Available through Tired Dog Rescue, Gulfport, MS.
